Stopping people in the street and asking to take their portrait, is something I have done all over the world. Sometimes the photographs work, sometimes they don't. The success of a photograph depends on so many factors; it is impossible to pinpoint just one magic ingredient. But, every so often, I meet someone who simply can't take a bad photograph. Go Komada is just such a person.
I met him shortly after arriving in Tokyo. A stranger on the street, he was at work at the time, so didn't have much time, but he agreed to allow me to take a couple of photographs. This shot was the very first one I captured. Of course, as I was to find out afterwards, it doesn't hurt that Go turned out to be a fashion model, so it is no surprise the camera loves him.
